Bungee Jumping

I recently did a charity Bungee Jump in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Let me tell you it was absolutely fantastic, I experienced the whole gambit of emotions that day. I went from anticipation, to fear, to joy ending up with a fit of the giggles.

I've included the video of my jump, filmed with a head camera on my Bungee Jumping Hub.

I have long been fascinated by bungee jumping and became a student of the sport prior to jumping. I enjoy discovering the history of how sports develop.

Bungee jumping evolved from a wife wishing to escape an abusive husband, becoming a show of manliness and a fertility ritual to becoming one of the most popular participation sports in the world today.

Most of my friends thought I was crazy to Bungee, but I couldn't wait, I was so excited. It seems to be a matter of perspective, many of my friends focused on the negative what ifs whereas I was happy with the risks and knew Bungee Jumping is a very safe sport and there is a lot of fun to be had when you overcome your fears and lean over the edge into the free fall.

I'll be honest, and you can see that from the video, that I let out a good scream until the bungee cord began to bounce me around. I'm looking forward to my next jump and have encouraged a few friends to join me next time.

Having "ticked off" one of the items on my To Do List, I've been thinking about what I should do next. I particularly enjoyed being able to make a charitable contribution while achieving one of my personal goals and I'm looking for potential activities to take me well outside my comfort zone.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to my new blog!

I recently joined Hubpages and have been publishing articles for the past couple of months.

Hubpages is a great community of writers who create content and take part in debate through forums and answering each others questions by creating new hubs.

I came across Hubpages through Google, one of their articles was in the top results for my search query. I clicked the link and began to navigate my way around the site. I liked what i saw and decided to join and start contributing myself.

You would begin by creating your profile and creating your first Hub.

Looking for inspiration for your articles? Why not check out the weekly Hubmob topic.

What is a Hubmob?

Each week a Hubmob topic is selected and hubbers have seven days to post their articles related to the selected topic.

A forum is created each week in the hubbers hangout, giving details of the topic and providing you with the procedure to create your hub to become part of the weeks hubmob.

Essentially you will answer a question by creating your hub, include a Hubmob graphic and their RSS feed in your hub. When you have published your Hub, you can post a link to your hub in the hubmob forum comments.

This gives hubbers a great opportunity to gain larger exposure within hubpages and generate significant traffic to their hubs.

With more people looking at our hubs, your hubscore will improve and you may develop a few more fans.

I joined Hubpages to develop my writing so being given a topic to develop an article is helping me greatly.

Check out my contribution to this weeks Hubmob, which is toys, in particular Brio Train Sets. While researching the article I found that Brio had collaborated with UNICEF to help build a social awareness of their vitally important work.
