This week’s Hubmob topic is on New Year around the world.
With the New Year fast approaching, plans will be afoot across the globe to see out the year and ring in 2010 in style.
We Scots have a rich history with Hogmanay and are known to celebrate New Year’s Eve with great zest and passion and are well known for our wonderful street parties. I do not believe any other country feels such a strong connection with Hogmanay as Scotland.
This is in part to Christmas being banned in Scotland for almost 400 years. For a long time Hogmanay was the only celebrated holiday in Scotland and we definitely made the most of it.
I’ve taken the opportunity to write a hub about Hogmanay, and have already had some great comments from fellow Hubbers.
I’ll be watching the Hubmob closely this week to see how people around the world celebrate the new year.
